Why is my forecast not loading?
Make sure you have an active internet connection and a fishing spot selected. Pull down on any screen to refresh. If the problem persists, try force-quitting the app and reopening it.
How do I add a fishing spot?
Tap the Spots tab at the bottom of the screen, then tap the + button. You can name the spot and pin your current location or any location you choose.
How accurate are the bite times?
Solunar calculations are accurate to within 15–20 minutes for your local time zone. Weather data is sourced from Open-Meteo and refreshes daily.
Does BitePeak work offline?
The app displays the last loaded forecast when you're offline. You need an internet connection to refresh weather data and fetch a new forecast.
Does the app need location permission?
Only if you want to automatically use your current location. You can add spots manually by searching or dropping a pin without granting location permission.
How is the bite score calculated?
The score combines 7 weighted factors: solunar periods (30%), moon phase (20%), wind speed (15%), temperature (12%), barometric pressure trend (10%), cloud cover (8%), and solar windows (5%).
What iOS version is required?
BitePeak requires iOS 17 or later.
Is BitePeak free?
Yes. All core features are completely free with no subscription required.

Use precise spot locations
The more accurate your spot coordinates, the more precise your solunar and weather data will be.
Refresh before you go
Pull to refresh on the morning of your trip to get the latest weather data before heading out.
Plan using the 7-day view
Check the Calendar tab to pick the highest-scoring day for your next fishing trip.
Aim for major bite windows
Major solunar periods last about 2 hours. Arrive 15 minutes early to be rigged and ready.
